Hewlett Packard Enterprise is experiencing a significant surge following its impressive earnings report, driven by the rapid growth in the artificial intelligence sector. Loop Capital has responded by upgrading the company's stock from hold to buy and set an ambitious price target of $75, a substantial increase from the previous $23, which represents a potential upside of 60% based on Monday's closing price.

According to Ananda Baruah of Loop Capital, the company's recent fiscal second quarter was a standout, marked by strong adoption of Agentic and Inferencing technologies, not only boosting revenue but also enhancing operating margins. He expressed optimism, stating, "With commercial inference investments ramping up, we believe we could be at the beginning of a significant growth phase lasting 3-5 years."

On Tuesday, shares of Hewlett Packard rose nearly 28% before the market opened after the company reported its largest quarterly earnings surprise since 2018. This remarkable performance was largely attributed to the strength of its server division as AI adoption continues to accelerate. The company reported adjusted earnings of 79 cents per share, surpassing analysts' expectations of 53 cents, and generated revenues of $10.68 billion for the quarter, exceeding the consensus estimate of $9.79 billion.

Looking ahead, Hewlett Packard projects its total revenue for the current quarter will fall between $11.5 billion and $12.1 billion. For fiscal 2026, the company anticipates revenue growth between 29% and 33% year-over-year, driven mainly by a robust networking revenue forecast of 72% to 75%. However, executives cautioned that ongoing supply chain challenges could hinder revenue conversion through 2027.

Despite these issues, Loop Capital believes Hewlett Packard's financial outlook is promising. Baruah noted that if the current networking boom evolves into a sustainable, multi-year infrastructure transformation rather than a temporary uptick, future estimates could see consistent upward revisions.

Market sentiment regarding Hewlett Packard remains divided. Among 22 analysts evaluating the company, 11 have assigned a buy or strong buy recommendation, while the other 11 maintain a hold stance, according to LSEG data. Year to date, shares have surged an impressive 96%.
