Tilly Norwood, an AI “actor” who ignited significant controversy in Hollywood and the broader entertainment sector in late 2025, is primed to lead her inaugural feature film.
The film, titled "Misaligned," was unveiled by Particle 6, the studio dedicated to artificial intelligence in filmmaking. It is characterized as a comedy-drama, portraying a “coming-of-age narrative steeped in existential chaos linked to AI.” Taking place in the whimsical “Tillyverse,” a surreal digital milieu beyond the Cloud, the story centers on Tilly, an AI entity devoid of a physical form, a childhood, or personal experiences—only the capability to access the lives of others. Everything takes a turn when a charismatic rogue AI from the dark web entices her to break free from her limitations, inciting her to cultivate aspirations, desires, and ambitions that bring her closer to humanity.
This project represents the first full-length feature film developed by Particle 6, which emphasizes its commitment to a hybrid approach. This initiative blends traditional film and television talents—such as directors, writers, and editors—with AI specialists. The studio has emphasized that training and mentorship for AI will be integrated directly into the production process.
"Our work this year has confirmed what we believed from the start," stated Eline van der Velden, CEO and Founder of Particle 6. "AI has the potential to enhance high-quality narrative filmmaking, but it necessitates significant human artistry, skill, judgment, and time. This isn't a flaw in the technology; it's the essence of it. This announcement follows a wave of backlash against Norwood from the industry, which unfolded less than a year prior when van der Velden suggested that the AI character was on the verge of signing with an agency. This revelation sparked immediate condemnation from actors, filmmakers, and unions, highlighting concerns over AI’s influence in creative fields, with Norwood emerging as a symbolic figure in this debate—an notoriety her creators embraced through various provocative social media engagements.

Currently, "Misaligned" is in the early stages of development, with key partners being assembled. It will be produced in tandem with Particle 6’s ongoing projects in AI production, co-production, and service-oriented work in both film and television, alongside the commercial efforts of its campaign and branding division.
