In a counterstatement, Altman retorted, "homeboy you're the one selling public market investors on short-term space datacenters," referring to Musk's vision for launching orbital data centers as a workaround for AI's energy demands on Earth. This week marked the launch of new flagship models from both companies, with OpenAI introducing GPT-5.6 and SpaceXAI unveiling Grok 4.5. Both models are designed to autonomously tackle complex, multi-step tasks.
As for their financial standings, Musk boasts an estimated net worth of $917.3 billion, having recently made history as the world's first trillionaire. In contrast, Altman is estimated to be worth around $3.4 billion.
When comparing capabilities, OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 excels in reasoning, business processes, and cybersecurity. Conversely, Grok 4.5 is noted for its effectiveness in autonomous coding and workflow for developers. While SpaceXAI promotes Grok 4.5's cost efficiency over GPT-5.6, OpenAI's model arguably surpasses Grok in several features, particularly in abstract reasoning.
