Stock in Nano Nuclear Energy is set for potential growth as the company advances its efforts to commercialize its micro-modular reactor amid the surge in artificial intelligence power needs, according to Roth Capital Partners. The investment firm started research coverage of NANO Nuclear with a "buy" rating on Wednesday, establishing a price target of $45 for the stock, suggesting a 60% increase compared to the closing price on Thursday.

In a comprehensive 25-page report to clients, analyst Craig Irwin noted, "Management is making significant strides towards commercializing its 15 MWe KRONOS micro-modular reactor (MMR), while also diversifying operations across the uranium lifecycle. The prospects for small modular reactor (SMR) solutions appear substantial, with demand on the rise. We anticipate advance orders from hyperscalers to serve as a clear catalyst for growth."

Over the past month, shares of Nano Nuclear have surged by 17%, driven by expectations of increasing global electricity consumption to support AI technologies. A recent report from the International Energy Agency indicated that global electricity demand could rise by 849 terawatt-hours in 2025. This uptick aligns with commitments from hyperscalers like Amazon and Nvidia, who have vowed to invest a combined total of at least $700 billion in constructing AI-focused data centers, which require substantial energy resources—providing an advantageous position for nuclear energy providers.

The KRONOS MMR is designed to output 15 megawatts of electric power utilizing a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor technology with meltdown-resistant enriched uranium fuel. This design provides a unique power solution, potentially giving Nano Nuclear a competitive advantage over its rivals, according to Roth Capital.

Roth Capital's analysis aligns with the general sentiment on Wall Street, where five out of six analysts monitoring Nano Nuclear have rated it as a buy or strong buy, according to data from LSEG.
