According to a recent report, the construction of a new campus is projected to require a minimum investment of $500 billion, driven by current costs associated with semiconductors, labor, energy, and various other necessary materials.
Under a 20-year lease agreement, OpenAI will manage the operations within the facility, with rental payments commencing once the site is operational. The initial phase of the project is anticipated to launch in 2028, as outlined in the report.
Nvidia is expected to play a key role by supplying the hardware required for the facility and providing a financial guarantee to support OpenAI's lease and the financing from SB Energy, the report states.
