According to a recent report from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), high school students' reading abilities are experiencing a notable decline on a global scale.
In a study released on Tuesday, the OECD analyzed assessments from 15-year-olds across 91 countries and economies, with participation from 760,000 students. The results indicated a significant decrease in scores compared to data collected ten years ago. This downturn points to a concerning trend in critical thinking, information evaluation, and the synthesis of various types of evidence among young learners, all of which are essential skills for the workforce of the future.
