Nvidia is set to launch an AI hub in Stockholm, Sweden, aimed at assisting startups in addressing health and environmental issues.
This initiative sees Nvidia teaming up with Norrsken, a non-profit organization founded by Niklas Adalberth, who is also a co-founder of the Swedish payment platform Klarna. Norrsken actively supports startups focused on tackling social and ecological challenges.
Named the Stockholm AI Lab, this hub is expected to open its doors in the heart of Stockholm by 2027, as shared in Norrsken’s recent announcement. The facility will house selected startups alongside Nvidia employees and feature a biotechnology demonstration lab.
Nvidia’s involvement will include providing essential computing infrastructure, software tools, and access to its global network of startups, although specific investment details have yet to be revealed.
What to Expect Inside the Hub
The Stockholm location will offer private office spaces and serve as a venue for events designed to foster connections among founders, investors, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers. Niklas Adalberth emphasized the necessity of a collaborative space, stating that founders need a dedicated environment to connect with potential investors and clientele and to foster a sense of community in their endeavors.
The demonstration lab will be managed by Nvidia in collaboration with Root Bio, a Stockholm-based startup that utilizes AI for molecular design relevant to biological applications, including efforts to lower greenhouse gas emissions. The initiative aims to showcase how artificial intelligence can facilitate advancements in biological discovery, with plans to include additional partners focused on robotics, climate initiatives, health, and manufacturing in the future.
Nvidia’s software will provide foundational support for projects across robotics, simulation, and life sciences, although the announcement did not clarify the types of equipment to be installed, the computing capacity available to members, or any associated costs for these resources.
A Broader European Initiative
This new hub in Stockholm is part of Nvidia’s larger strategy within Europe to empower companies and researchers in utilizing AI technology, which manifests in various forms across the continent.
For instance, in September 2025, Nvidia unveiled a robotics research and development facility in the UK, collaborating with techUK, a technology trade organization, along with QA to cultivate AI and robotics skills. Additionally, in June 2025, Nvidia announced the establishment or expansion of several AI technology centers in countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, Finland, Sweden, and the UK, furthering research, training, and access to AI computing resources.
