Nvidia is set to announce its fiscal second-quarter earnings shortly. According to analyst projections compiled by LSEG, here are the anticipated figures: earnings per share are estimated at $2.10, with revenue expected to reach approximately $92.17 billion.

At the forefront of the artificial intelligence sector, Nvidia has experienced significant growth driven by the AI surge. Their chips play a crucial role in developing and powering cutting-edge AI models, and the company increasingly offers financial backing through various arrangements that facilitate the funding and establishment of new AI data centers.

Nearly four years since the debut of OpenAI's ChatGPT, Nvidia's performance remains robust, with projections indicating that revenue for the most recent quarter may nearly double from $46.7 billion a year earlier.

Despite a historically impressive three-year stock rally, investor enthusiasm has waned somewhat this year, resulting in a modest 14% increase as of Tuesday's market close—just surpassing the performance of the Nasdaq. While the company’s operations continue to thrive, it faces emerging competition from Advanced Micro Devices, Google, and others, along with rising memory costs attributed to an ongoing global shortage.

Nvidia is currently in the midst of a significant product release cycle, with its new Vera Rubin AI systems beginning to ship to major clients like Microsoft and OpenAI. Investors will be keen to learn about the uptick in sales and whether any supply chain issues have arisen.

Earlier this year, CEO Jensen Huang mentioned at the company's GTC conference that he anticipates $1 trillion in sales by 2027 from the current-generation Blackwell chips alongside the Vera Rubin systems.

The investor conference call is scheduled to commence at 5 p.m. ET, followed by an appearance by Jensen Huang on CNBC's "Mad Money" with host Jim Cramer at 6 p.m. ET. Viewers can catch the discussion live through CNBC+ or the CNBC Pro streaming service.

CNBC reporters will cover Nvidia's earnings from their offices in San Francisco and Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.
