During the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House on June 14, 2026, Mark Zuckerberg was present as Meta unveiled its latest artificial intelligence initiative: Muse Image. This innovative model aims to entice both creators and advertisers to explore Meta's suite of offerings.
Initially referred to as Mango, Muse Image is the second significant development from Meta Superintelligence Labs, which is headed by Alexandr Wang. Wang was also responsible for the launch earlier this year of Muse Spark, the large language model that succeeded the previous Llama series.
Users can access Muse Image at no cost through the Meta AI app, the Meta website, WhatsApp direct messaging, and Instagram Stories. However, power users and content creators are encouraged to subscribe to one of Meta's newly introduced monthly plans, rolled out in May, to generate a larger volume of AI-created images and unlock additional features. For those who exceed their free usage limits, they can choose to buy a Meta One subscription or simply wait for their limits to refresh, as stated by the company.
In addition to its consumer applications, Muse Image will enhance Meta's AI-driven Advantage Plus service, which equips advertisers with tools to streamline ad creation and automate various tasks. According to Meta, they have collaborated with several businesses in preparation for the Muse Image launch.
In a blog post aimed at businesses, Meta emphasized that "Muse Image introduces inherent reasoning to the creative workflow, enabling adjustments, style swaps, and variations based on the advertiser's original concepts. This results in high-quality, brand-consistent ad variants requiring fewer revisions." Advertisers and agencies can look forward to seeing image variants created with Muse Image in the near future.
