Legal AI firm Legora revealed on Wednesday that it has successfully secured $550 million in a Series E funding round, bringing its total valuation to $8.8 billion. This significant investment is indicative of the increasing demand for AI-driven solutions within the legal industry, which is transitioning from simple AI assistants to more complex AI services aimed at streamlining workflows for legal practitioners.

This announcement comes a month after competitor Harvey disclosed its own $550 million funding round, achieving a valuation of $15.5 billion. Furthermore, in March, Harvey reported an impressive annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeding $200 million.

Legora's recent funding announcement follows an earlier statement in April, when it disclosed a $50 million extension to its Series D round, which had previously raised $550 million and valued the company at $5.6 billion. At that time, Legora's ARR was approximately $100 million; however, the latest figures show that it has doubled, now exceeding $200 million.

This latest funding round has attracted several prominent investors, including Atreides Management, which took the lead, alongside notable firms such as Baron Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, Menlo, and others. The new capital is intended to support Legora’s continued expansion throughout North America.
