Jeff Bezos has shared his perspective on the impact of artificial intelligence, predicting it will lead to a “labor shortage in the economy.” He dismissed concerns that advancements in technology would result in widespread job displacement, especially as he introduces a new initiative aimed at enhancing the productivity of engineers.
The Amazon.com founder is at the forefront of an innovative AI enterprise named Prometheus, which is focused on developing an "artificial general engineer" capable of designing and manufacturing intricate products, including jet engines.
In a recent interview, Bezos stated that the vision for Prometheus is “to empower engineers and streamline the invention process, enabling smaller teams to accomplish significantly larger projects in shorter timeframes.”
He is not alone in this journey; numerous tech innovators are diving into the AI landscape. Notable figures such as Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick, Coinbase co-founder Brian Armstrong, and Robinhood co-founder Vlad Tenev are among those establishing new startups linked to the AI revolution.
Prometheus has garnered considerable attention and is estimated to be valued at approximately $41 billion. Currently, Prometheus has assembled a workforce of around 150 employees in its offices located in San Francisco, London, and Zurich.
