Anthropic has announced a substantial investment of $100 million to establish an academy aimed at developing AI talent, collaborating with various firms to seamlessly incorporate artificial intelligence into their business frameworks.
This funding will support the launch of the Claude Frontier Academy, which has set an ambitious goal of training 10,000 "frontier deployed engineers" from organizations belonging to Anthropic's Claude Partner Network by the end of 2027, as detailed in a press release published on Friday.
The first cohort of trainees will include engineers from notable firms such as Accenture, Morgan Stanley, Novo Nordisk, and various leading consulting companies. This initiative stems from Anthropic’s experiences in assisting businesses with the integration of Claude.
Shambhavi Shambhavi, who oversees strategy and operations for partnerships at Anthropic, shared insights with CNBC, explaining, "Our customers and partner organizations are expressing a need for individuals who can merge their understanding of enterprise technology and business scenarios with top-tier AI expertise to tackle pressing challenges."
As demand for AI adoption continues to accelerate worldwide, Anthropic is rapidly expanding its reach. The company is anticipated to go public later this year and is rumored to be eyeing a staggering $2 trillion market valuation. Recent reports from Reuters reveal that Anthropic generated nearly $4.6 billion in revenue last year while incurring an operating loss exceeding $8 billion, as indicated in a leaked IPO prospectus.
The training curriculum will commence with an immersive "simulated enterprise deployment" phase which includes a rigorous assessment process. Participants who successfully navigate this phase will then enter a residency program modeled after medical training, where software engineers will engage with instructors and apply their skills through practical casework before undergoing assessment and receiving certification. The first group of certified engineers is expected to emerge in early 2027.
Steve Corfield, Anthropic's global head of business development and partnerships, remarked, "The Claude Frontier Academy is designed to train individuals in the same manner our engineers learn, and we aspire for our graduates to set a benchmark for AI development within organizations."
This initiative is timely, coinciding with a burgeoning demand for AI engineering skills across various sectors. According to exclusive data from Draup, job postings for forward deployed engineers and other AI-related positions have seen a significant increase this year, particularly in the finance industry.
