Our office in Seoul has officially opened its doors, marking a significant step in our commitment to the Korean AI landscape. We are excited to announce fresh partnerships within the local AI ecosystem, collaborating with enterprises, startups, and researchers who are spearheading innovative implementations of our AI model, Claude.

KiYoung Choi, the Representative Director of Korea at Anthropic, expressed his enthusiasm about the potential he sees in Korea, stating, “What I observe in Korea are teams that recognize the connection between innovation and safety. Korean organizations are utilizing Claude to extend AI benefits to millions globally. Establishing an office in Seoul solidifies our long-term investment in the local AI leadership.”

This week, our senior leaders visited Seoul to inaugurate the new office and engage with partners, customers, and developers who are leveraging Claude's capabilities.

**Enhancing Collaborations with Enterprises and Startups**

Korean companies such as WRTN and Law&Company have partnered with Claude for several years, and we are thrilled to share new insights into how Claude is being integrated into the Korean economy.

A significant uptake is visible among developers, particularly at NAVER, one of Asia's cloud and AI pioneers, which has recently implemented Claude Code across its entire engineering team. Thousands of NAVER engineers are utilizing Claude Code to enhance their coding practices and boost productivity. At Nexon, a leading global gaming company, engineering teams harness Claude Code for coding tasks associated with live-service games that entertain millions of players worldwide.

Major conglomerates in Korea are also embracing Claude's capabilities. LG CNS, the IT services subsidiary of LG Group, is rolling out Claude to a large number of employees to facilitate software development and the provision of tech solutions for clients. Claude's deployment will also extend throughout LG Group. Similarly, Hanwha Solutions, which operates in the energy, chemicals, and advanced materials sectors, is integrating Claude with global employees via AWS Bedrock to meet stringent regional data residency and security protocols. Samsung SDS, the IT services branch of Samsung Group, is deploying Claude to enhance knowledge work, agentic workflows, and scalable software development across Samsung Electronics.

Startups are also embedding Claude directly into their solutions. For instance, Channel Corp utilizes Claude to fuel Channel Talk, its AI-driven customer platform that addresses customer inquiries and analyzes sales data to furnish valuable insights utilized by over 230,000 businesses in Korea, Japan, and the United States.

**Fostering Research and Meaningful Deployments**

Our initiatives in Korea extend into the academic realm as well. To build stronger connections with the research community, we are partnering with the National AI Research Lab (NAIRL), which includes organizations such as KAIST, Korea University, Yonsei University, and POSTECH. Anthropic will grant Claude access to approximately 60 researchers affiliated with NAIRL, bolstering efforts in areas like AI safety, model evaluation, alignment, and advanced frontier AI studies.

In the nonprofit arena, Good Neighbors Korea, a child rights-focused NGO, is implementing Claude to assist staff in evaluating program outcomes, managing social welfare regulations and guidelines, and minimizing administrative burdens that detract from their focus on fieldwork.

Jeongsun Park, Chief Administrative Officer at Good Neighbors Korea, stated, “We are investigating how responsible AI integration can reinforce the work of frontline social workers and enhance service delivery. By deploying Claude throughout our organization, we anticipate substantial efficiency improvements, allowing our staff to dedicate more time to what truly matters: supporting vulnerable children and communities.”

**Engaging with the Developer Community**

According to our latest Economic Index, Korea stands as one of the world's top markets for Claude.ai usage, particularly in technical and creative sectors. Additionally, it boasts an active developer community with startups aiming for global outreach. To foster this community, we have launched Claude for Startups in Korea, and since September 2025, Claude Meetups have attracted hundreds of enthusiastic developers.

Recently, we co-hosted Claude Build Day in collaboration with BASS Ventures, uniting over 100 Korean founders and developers with leaders from Anthropic for an engaging afternoon of hands-on building. Looking ahead, we will also collaborate on a Push to Prod hackathon alongside Replit, Korea Investment Partners, and Korea Investment Accelerator, where startup teams will have the opportunity to develop projects using Claude Code with guidance from Anthropic and Replit engineers.

Our Seoul office, under the leadership of KiYoung Choi—who brings 30 years of experience in Korean technology enterprises—is now operational and actively recruiting for various positions. To explore opportunities to join our expanding team, please visit our careers page.
